Fact-Checking Policy

24TimesNow Editorial Guidelines and Correction Policies

a) 24TimesNow is dedicated to delivering accurate and reliable information throughout all its content. We uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity, employing rigorous fact-checking processes to ensure the precision of our reports. We approach claims with a skeptical eye, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.

b) Our commitment to accuracy is paramount to our reputation and the trust of our audience. The term ‘due accuracy’ signifies that the precision of our content is appropriate and adequate, considering the subject and nature of the information. We explicitly mention any constraints influencing this expectation.

c) All our content, tailored to its subject and nature, is well-sourced, based on available evidence, and corroborated. We strive for transparency about what we don’t know, avoiding unfounded speculation. Our journalists are strictly prohibited from deliberate plagiarism or distortion of facts.

d) Independent verification is sought from credible sources, especially for claims made by public officials or individuals with agendas beyond truth. Claims, allegations, or material that cannot be corroborated are appropriately attributed.

e) 24TimesNow stands by the accuracy of the information it publishes. If proven otherwise, we promptly rectify the news item or information. We do not knowingly mislead our audience, distort facts, or present invented material as truth. Serious factual errors are acknowledged and corrected swiftly, clearly, and appropriately.

f) Our journalists focus on reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories, subject to review by one or more editors. A multi-level fact-checking structure is in place for stories requiring due diligence, with the seniority of editors based on factors like complexity, sensitivity, and time pressure.

Correction Policies

While 24TimesNow continually strives for excellence and accuracy, we acknowledge that errors may occur. When errors are identified, we take responsibility for correction, maintaining transparency to ensure confidence in our content.

READERS:
If a reader identifies an error, please contact our Editor-in-Chief, Subhranil, immediately via email at news@24timesnow.com, with the subject line “Correction Needed.”

If sent by email, corrections should include the correction, the issue date or number, where the correction was noticed (online, in print, etc.), the reader’s name, and a phone number or email address for contact. Please provide correct information and cite sources, if applicable.

Expect a response from the Editor-in-Chief and potential follow-up for clarification or additional information. Note that a correction submission guarantees an investigation but not necessarily the issuance of a correction.

24TimesNow Editorial Team:
Once made aware of an error, the Editor-in-Chief will investigate using information provided by the reader, meeting minutes, recordings, and other sources.

If an error is confirmed, corrections will be implemented across all platforms:

  • PRINT: Corrections will be printed on a dedicated page in the next issue, denoting the issue, article, and correction.
  • 24TimesNow.com: The online article will be corrected, accompanied by an editor’s note detailing the error and when the article was updated.
  • SOCIAL MEDIA: If the article was shared on social media, a post will be made linking to the corrected article, explicitly noting the correction.

The Editor-in-Chief will contact the reader who submitted the correction, explaining the steps taken to rectify the error.
